AvoDirect is owned and operated by the Fraser family and based at Bramasole Avocado Orchard on a gentle hill overlooking beautiful Waihi Beach in the Western Bay of Plenty, approximately 15 minutes north of Katikati.

The Fraser Family

Bramasole is a 6.5 acre orchard growing only Hass avocados along with some plantings of tamarillos and feijoas. The orchard was established 10 years ago. Only 1 km from the beach, it is a warm, frost-free environment ideal for growing perfect avocados.

Naturally grown - the soils are all Katikati sandy loam known for their outstanding growing properties. For the last four years we have not applied any nitrogen, phosphorous or potash to this great soil. Instead we have fed our soil calcium and a wide range of trace elements which include iron, manganese, magnesium and boron. This makes the fruit much higher in dry matter, tastier and of course, naturally grown.

Soil Science - Don Fraser has a degree in soil science. He takes the soil management very seriously which benefits you, the consumer.

Sprays - we utilise Fruitfed's Pest Monitoring Service. Our orchard is monitored weekly to count not only the naughty, but also the beneficial bugs. We only spray when we aboslutely have to, ordinarily with "soft sprays".

Holistic Approach - Our whole approach is to keep the orchard "happy" and balanced. It is a place of peace and tranquility, not only for us as growers, but the trees as well. We strive to grow avocados that are top quality and good for you. Avocados are a whole food for babies.
